Shopaholics, beware! Newport Beach shopping is chock full of darling boutiques and one-of-a-kind shops for some serious retail therapy.
Lido Marina Village
Right in the heart of the Newport Peninsula sits the chic Lido Marina Village. Shops line a brick-lane road that stretches right along the waters of Newport’s harbor, for premium views and (more importantly!) premium shopping. Snag some of that effortless coastal style at Jenni Kayne and Faherty, Towne by Elysewalker and Velvet by Graham and Spencer. Enjoy lunch at any of the restaurants that sit along bay, for fresh faire in the open air. And if you’re here on weekends, you can listen to live music performed on the Lido Deck from noon-3:00. And while you’re at it, treat yourself to beauty products from Aesop and home decor from Serena & Lily (two of our favorites!).
Fashion Island
The name is 100% accurate, because Fashion Island is *the* destination for all your retail needs! A 15 minute drive from the peninsula, Fashion Island is a sprawling outdoor mall that’s home to some of the most popular brands in the country. From Nordstrom to Lululemon, Neiman Marcus to Urban Outfitters, this spot will keep everyone happy! And best of all, the plush seating areas, koi ponds, fountains, and ocean views provide an unbeatable ambiance. Be sure to save some time to dine at any of the cafes on the premises. True Foods is a fan favorite with their seasonal and organic menu along with Scratch Bakery and Lemonade. But truly, close your eyes and point to a restaurant and we assure you that you’ll have a top-notch experience!
Balboa Island
A Newport Beach shopping trip isn’t complete without a visit to Marine Ave on the adorable Balboa Island. Although a predominantly residential island, Balboa Island doesn’t mess around when it comes to retail. Marine Avenue is the town’s main street, and boy, is it full of fantastic boutiques that go above and beyond to curate unique pieces for your home and wardrobe! Our go-to spots are Etcetera Etc, hjom, and Sunny Days. Oh, and don’t forget to grab you and your shopping crew a Balboa Bar, an iconic ice cream treat that’s unique to this area!
These Brick & Mortar Boutiques Can’t Be Beat!
These two shopping hot spots aren’t a part of a larger shopping complex, but trust us: they are worth the special trip! Seaside Gallery & Goods is floor-to-ceiling sensational! From clean beauty products to baby clothes to handbags to coffee table books, this place – quite literally – has it ALL. But our favorite aspect of SG&G is that it is an artist co-op. That means that there are a ton of unique pieces by local artists who also happen to be the people who run and manage the shop! This is the epitome of shopping small and local, folks!
For any Gen Z-ers out there, get yourself to Daydream Surf Shop. They have the cutest selection of trinkets, home goods, and clothes if you’re looking to up your cool factor. And best of all, there’s a terrific coffee shop on site that you gotta visit, whether you’re shopping or not!
